Roni, organiser of the New York Travel Festival, noted that I had a good eye for photos after taking a look at my Instagram account, and he asked me if I was interested in doing the festival photography.
Being the official photographer for the 4-day festival was an exciting experience. I had photographed festivals before but never something on this scale. I was required to capture not only the festival speakers and panels, but also get creative with capturing the different venues (Bohemian National Hall and Hostelling International NYC) and documenting the various cultural performances and experiences on offer by the festival’s major sponsors – Czech Tourism and Visit Tokyo.
I had 2 cameras hanging around my neck for most of the festival – my Canon 600D (T3i) DSLR and my Canon M5 Mirrorless, along with various lenses including a wide angle, telephoto, and portrait lens.
